Summary:
The Maintenance Project Manager directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, completion of productive equipment Troubleshooting & Maintenance activities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate AIT or contract employees in a customer plant within the framework of a Maintenance Contract with the customer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning and execution of Preventive Maintenance activities to ensure equipment availability in the customer plant.
- Leads a team of skilled technicians (an AIT Technical Support Team) in the customer plant in all Troubleshooting and minor repair activities.
- Utilizes work experience and knowledge of PLCs, CAN Bus or other diagnostic and programming tools to keep automated equipment running. Performs root cause analysis of the equipment failures.
- Monitors and controls costs by effective scheduling of the available internal and external resources.
- Attends customer production and planning meetings, per customer requirements.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and advises the customer on the course of action.
- Answers or returns customer calls within a required time 24/7, assigns technicians available at the plant or comes in after hours to help the customer with an emergency equipment breakdown repair.
- Makes sure Maintenance tasks are performed in a safe manner and is responsible for Maintenance team members’ safety.
- Performs skills assessment and develops cross-functional on-the-job and formal classroom training for Maintenance Technicians.
- Effectively leads AIT on-site Maintenance team to provide excellent service to the customer.
- Acts as a face of AIT in the customer plant – ethical, competent, polite, willing and able to generate new business opportunities by identifying problems within or outside the contracted scope of work and offering solutions to the customer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED Required.
- Minimum of a two-year technical degree.
- CPMM Certification or a trade school apprenticeship are a plus.
- Team Leadership and Management experience preferred.
- Effectively works with CMMS (SAP, MAXIMO, e-Maintenance, etc.) to create work orders, set up maintenance schedules, manage spare parts, analyze data, generate reports for the customer.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a Secret security clearance.

- Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, and/or measuring devices.

- Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved.
- Clear and effective communication skills in both written and spoken forms.
- Understands how to use the computers, including such tasks as turning the computer on and off, locating and opening files, navigate to websites, perform searches, and download files.
- Knowledge of computer applications including email, databases, word-processing program and spreadsheets (such as Microsoft Office).
- Respond and follow up to a customer’s inquiry or problem in a timely and effective manner.
- Identifies problems and review relevant information to develop options, then implement the solutions.
- Works effectively with different levels of management, team members and customers.

- Indoors. Production and office environment. Temperature controlled, unless products and/or equipment is located outdoors.

Work Hours:
- Standard work schedule, overtime may be necessary for meeting deadlines, required travel, and emergent conditions.

- Remote - perform job responsibilities from customer work sites.

- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
- Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
