Position Summary

Aalis Management Consulting is seeking a Technical Writer to develop, revise, and maintain clear, accurate technical and procedural documentation supporting a federal IT organization.

Work Arrangement

The position is expected to be onsite in Southwest Washington, DC for the first two months of performance. Thereafter, the anticipated schedule is at least two onsite days per week with up to three telework days, subject to Government direction. USCP may require up to five onsite days per week. The selected candidate must be able to complete required criminal-history, fingerprinting, and badging procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update manuals, standard operating procedures, user guides, training materials, reports, and other technical documentation.
  • Interview subject-matter experts and translate technical/process information into clear customer-ready content.
  • Maintain document consistency, version control, formatting and quality.
  • Support document review, routing, approval and sign-off workflows.
  • Create or refine process descriptions, instructions, presentations, and related desktop-publishing products.
  • Coordinate with project managers, analysts, technical staff and Government stakeholders to keep documentation current.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of technical-writing and/or desktop-publishing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing technical manuals, guides, training or procedural documentation.
  • Excellent editing, organization, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaborative document environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Federal IT documentation experience.
  • SharePoint/Microsoft 365 experience.
  • Experience documenting project-management, financial-management, or IT operational processes.

Employment Note

This position is contingent upon contract award and final Government approval/requirements. Compensation within the posted range will depend on relevant experience, education, certifications, and contractual considerations.
