Overview
We are seeking a motivated Roofing Technician to join our team. The Roofing Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection of residential and commercial roofing systems. This role involves working with a variety of roofing materials, identifying and resolving roofing issues, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards and building codes. The Roofing Technician works as part of a team to deliver high-quality workmanship while maintaining a safe and organized job site. The position requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to customer satisfaction and project quality.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform demolition of property, debris removal, and content cleaning.
- Responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and installation of commercial roofing systems.
- Create and maintain accurate and detailed measurements, diagrams, photos, journals, work orders, and other documentation, as required for each job into job management systems.
- Communicate details of work performed, and job status clearly and succinctly with clients, managers, team members, and other parties.
- Maintain a neat and orderly worksite and obey all safety rules and regulations to prevent work hazards.
- Ensure work truck is clean and organized; ensuring truck is stocked with necessary equipment and supplies to perform all work required at designated job sites.
- Assist other departments and technicians as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience
- Experience with using basic hand tools.
- 1+ years of experience working in commercial roofing.
- Skills
- General knowledge of a variety of basic topics, such as math, reading, typing, and computer functions.
- Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions provided written orally, or diagrammatically.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to use basic hand tools, such as screwdriver, wrench, hammer crowbar, and power tools.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Must have on-call availability.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with travel to outdoor job sites.
- Ability to sustain long periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling.
- Must be able to perform all tasks while wearing required PPE.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, as well as harsh indoor conditions.
- Ability to work at heights, confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, twist, climb, push, pull, and balance.
