We're a small team building an AI talent agent that serves thousands of professionals. These are the principles that shape how we work — not rules carved in stone, but a shared language we hold each other to.

Speed Is the Default

We ship fast and fix forward.

  • Speed and clear results beat theoretical correctness.
  • We choose momentum over polish. Cleanup happens after reality proves something matters.
  • The real failure is building something nobody needs — not a bug in production.

We Raise the Bar — Together

Every hire, every decision, every line of code should raise the standard.

  • We hire people who elevate the team. Bar-raisers over lone geniuses.
  • Feedback is expected, direct, and frequent — in both directions.
  • The best engineers make everyone around them better.

Extreme Team Ownership

If something breaks, we fix it together. Immediately.

  • You build it, you run it. Titles disappear during incidents.
  • We trust you to act — waiting for permission slows everyone down.
  • Ownership is about outcomes, not territory.

Simple Beats Clever

Over-engineering is the default failure mode.

  • Readability over performance. Obvious over elegant.
  • Code should be easy to change and easy to delete.
  • If it needs a meeting to explain, it's probably wrong.

Argue Hard. Decide Fast.

We value sharp thinking and fast decisions.

  • The best argument wins — regardless of who makes it.
  • If time runs out, the clock decides. After a decision: full commitment.
  • We disagree openly, then move forward as one team.

Quality Is Human

Code is communication, not a puzzle.

  • If it's hard to read, it's not done.
  • Tests buy confidence, not perfection.
  • We block PRs for clarity without apology. Machines survive bad code — teams don't.

Engineers Own the Goal

We don't just build features. We build outcomes.

  • Understand users, product, and business context.
  • Challenge decisions that miss the goal. Engineers are expected to push back — and explain why.
  • Documentation exists so autonomy scales.

Learning Is the Job

If you're not learning, you're standing still.

  • We learn something new every day. Knowledge is public by default.
  • Teaching others is part of the role — not a side quest.
  • Shipping fast is table stakes. Leveling up the team is how you win.

We Steer the Ship Together

Autonomy means you own the direction, not just the execution.

  • We expect you to shape the roadmap — not wait for it to be handed down.
  • We decide direction together, then trust each person to drive their part.
  • New ideas from anyone on the team are how we get better. Culture is meant to be challenged.

The Engineering Archetype

A great engineer here jumps in, owns problems end-to-end, communicates clearly, keeps the goal in mind, moves fast, gives and receives feedback openly — and cares deeply enough to do all of it consistently.

This Culture Isn't for Everyone

That's intentional. We'd rather be honest upfront than waste anyone's time — yours or ours.

  • Passivity — waiting to be told what to do.
  • "Not my problem." Ever.
  • Over-engineering to look smart.
  • Silence instead of disagreement.
  • Shipping without caring about the outcome.
  • Hoarding knowledge instead of sharing it.
  • Blaming systems or people instead of fixing the problem.
  • Fragile egos that can't handle direct feedback.
