The Fortune Society’s mission is to support successful reentry from incarceration and promote alternatives to incarceration, thus strengthening the fabric of our communities. We do this by: - BELIEVING in the power of individuals to change; - BUILDING LIVES through service programs shaped by the needs and experience of our participants; and - CHANGING MINDS through education and advocacy to promote the creation of a fair, humane, and truly rehabilitative correctional system.

Founded in 1970 as the Institute of Medicine (IOM), the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) is one of three Academies that make up the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (the National Academies) in the United States. Operating under the 1863 Congressional charter of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academies are private, nonprofit institutions that work outside of government to provide objective advice on matters of science, technology, and health. Studies from the National Academies are often congressionally mandated or commissioned by government agencies, and their recommendations can have lasting impact on domestic and global policy.

Urban Strategies LLC provides strategic planning, advocacy counsel and government affairs to major companies, non-profit organizations and cause-related efforts by building a specialized team of top professionals.

Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) assists close to 50,000 parents, children, and child care providers each month in Northern Los Angeles County and the entirety of San Bernardino County serving a total area of 22,500 square miles. Since 1976, CCRC has been managing programs to assist with issues such as finding and selecting child care, child care financial assistance, school readiness, home visiting, and research and program evaluation. Children and families benefit from these programs, allowing parents to go to work and attend school, contribute to the economy and strengthen their families and the community. CCRC's early care & education specialists offer parents and child care professionals assistance ranging from finding child care and child development ages & stages to marketing child care businesses and CPR training and certification. CCRC operates and oversees Head Start Birth-5 programs for a total of 3,312 children. These programs promote school readiness and family engagement to ensure a healthy development of children and their families. Children benefit from a high quality preschool education as well as medical and dental exams. Through CCRC’s literacy campaign “What a Difference a Book Makes”, we have collected 800,000 age appropriate books. It is the agency’s belief that the cognitive benefits of literacy are immeasurable and has a large impact on the ability of an economy to general and sustain wealth. Since 1984, Larkin Street Youth Services has been the largest nonprofit provider of services to youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness in the Bay Area. We’ve supported over 80,000 young people ages 12 to 24 —and 3 out of 4 who access our comprehensive programs exit to safe and stable housing. Our continuum of care spans outreach, shelter, housing, health, wellness, education and employment. They have the potential and drive to build what’s next. Acumen, LLC works to improve the information provided to policymakers who design and revise welfare, health, education, labor, and business programs at the national, state, and local levels. In conjunction with its affiliated nonprofit firm, the SPHERE Institute, Acumen offers practitioners a powerful policy analysis capability, providing specific, impartial advice and context for policy debates. We are committed to the improvement of public policy through information management, and we have worked with several agencies to develop resources to build their internal databases and self-evaluation capacity. To supplement internal sources of information, our team has created and utilized all forms of administrative and survey data to produce outcomes relevant for both service providers and funding organizations. Acumen members have experience conveying information and research findings to broad audiences of policymakers, program operators, and other stakeholders. With these interrelated goals and expertise, Acumen, LLC serves the interests of the public, government, business and the research community.
