The founders, Richard and Kathryn, bring deep tech and product leadership from roles at Cruise, Graft, Databento, and Pinterest, and started Openmart to address their own pain points. They are based in Foster City, operating out of a loft where Richard lives, and have been friends since meeting at Pinterest in 2019. Kathryn runs a direct-to-consumer tea brand and has hands-on go-to-market experience launching a beverage, adding practical perspective to Openmart’s approach.
