The Sangomar field which contains both oil and gas, is located 100 kilometres south of Dakar and has been producing since first oil, mid-2024.

Woodside has engaged MODEC Senegal S.A.S.U to operate and maintain the FPSO “Leopold Sedar Senghor” for the Sangomar field. The FPSO is permanently moored and will remain on station for the duration of the operations phase. The phase 1 development consists of 24 subsea Wells comprising 12 Oil Producers, 10 Water Injectors and 2 Gas Injection Wells tied back to the FPSO via a subsea network of flowlines and associated infrastructure.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities

• • Supports Operations Contractor to appropriately identifying and manage process safety risks.
  • Works with Operations Contractor to perform production optimisation through management of system capacity, constraints and testing.
  • Support Operations Contractor during emergent and urgent facility issues.
  • Responsible for ensuring Operations Contractor compliance with integrity monitoring process and that integrity excursions are being appropriately managed by operations contractor engineering team.
  • Responsible for ensuring Operations Contractor engineering input is being requested in management of change where appropriate. 
  • Responsible for ensuring vulnerabilities and opportunities have appropriate risk assessments and action plans, communicated to and agreed by relevant stakeholders.
  • Responsible for ensuring Operations Contractor alarm governance, improvements and implementation is being adequately supported
  • Discrete discipline technical review activities to feed into Asset strategic imperatives.
  • Support technical queries from maintenance, operations or engineering teams – both Operations Contractor and Company.
  • Own discrete, medium-term deliverables with the objective of improving Operations Contractor enablement and performance. 
  • Facilitate engagement when required with Company discipline engineering teams, including Flow Assurance support.
  • Strong focus on knowledge transfer and training of Senegalese Engineers for succession planning.
  • Works collaboratively, demonstrates business acumen, and communicate clearly with stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Skills and Experience

• Process / Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent engineering degree and experience.
• Preference for candidates with 7+ years of directly relevant experience in oil and gas with strong weight for candidates with operations experience.
• Required to have deep understanding of Woodside management processes and tools, acknowledging the FPSO operates under the MODEC management system.
• Knowledge in Process Safety Management. 
• Competency in all areas will be required from day 1 in role.
