About Weatherden
Weatherden is a physician-led clinical development partner supporting biotech, pharma, and investors to develop medicines in the right direction. We focus on reducing technical, strategic, and execution risk across the full development pathway — from translational strategy and IND readiness through to First-in-Human, clinical proof-of-concept, and pivotal studies.
With over 200 projects delivered, more than 500 clinical trials supported, and experience across numerous therapeutic modalities, our team combines deep clinical, regulatory, statistical and operational expertise. We are London headquartered and composed predominantly of MD/PhD qualified team members and senior industry leaders with decades of cumulative industry experience.
Weatherden is a GMC-approved training site for Pharmaceutical Medicine Specialty Training (PMST), which leads to Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Pharmaceutical Medicine and entry onto the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register. We have multiple Fellows and Members of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine on staff, and qualified Educational Supervisors for those interested in pursuing specialty training in Pharmaceutical Medicine.
The Opportunity
This is a full-time, 12-month Clinical Development Fellow designed for specialty trainees (ST3–ST6, recently post-CCT) or physicians with a strong interest in oncology and drug development.
The role is ideally suited to higher specialty trainees – including, but not limited to, Medical/Clinical Oncology, Hematology, Clinical pharmacology & therapeutics, Clinical Genetics, Histopathology – considering an Out of Programme Experience (OOPE*) or Post-CCT fellowship, Academic Clinical Fellows/Lecturers, or physicians with prior clinical trial exposure (e.g. Clinical Research Fellows, clinical research organisation roles) seeking structured experience in industry. While the role will focus on Oncology indications, there will be opportunities to cross-over other specialties/indications as aligned with the interests of the company.
The fellowship provides immersive, hands-on experience across live biotech and pharma clinical development programmes, with direct mentorship from senior drug development physicians.
While the initial contract is for 12 months, there may be opportunity for longer-term progression within Weatherden, subject to mutual agreement and business needs.
*This role is compatible with OOPE, subject to approval from the relevant training programme and deanery. Applicants would be responsible for securing appropriate deanery approval in line with local processes, for which Weatherden can provide a letter of support.
