The fellow will contribute to Clinical Development Plans, protocol design, and regulatory briefing documents for oncology assets. They will also support translational strategies, biomarker integration, and the preparation of peer-reviewed publications.
Requires a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent), full GMC registration, and at least two years of clinical practice. Candidates should have clinical exposure to oncology and a strong interest in drug development.

We have multiple Fellows and Members of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine on staff, and qualified Educational Supervisors for those interested in pursuing specialty training in Pharmaceutical Medicine.
The Opportunity
This is a full-time, 12-month Clinical Development Fellow designed for specialty trainees (ST3–ST6, recently post-CCT) or physicians with a strong interest in oncology and drug development.
The role is ideally suited to higher specialty trainees – including, but not limited to, Medical/Clinical Oncology, Hematology, Clinical pharmacology & therapeutics, Clinical Genetics, Histopathology – considering an Out of Programme Experience (OOPE*) or Post-CCT fellowship, Academic Clinical Fellows/Lecturers, or physicians with prior clinical trial exposure (e.g. Clinical Research Fellows, clinical research organisation roles) seeking structured experience in industry. While the role will focus on Oncology indications, there will be opportunities to cross-over other specialties/indications as aligned with the interests of the company.
The fellowship provides immersive, hands-on experience across live biotech and pharma clinical development programmes, with direct mentorship from senior drug development physicians.
While the initial contract is for 12 months, there may be opportunity for longer-term progression within Weatherden, subject to mutual agreement and business needs.
*This role is compatible with OOPE, subject to approval from the relevant training programme and deanery. Applicants would be responsible for securing appropriate deanery approval in line with local processes, for which Weatherden can provide a letter of support.
Role Overview
You will be embedded in live client projects spanning translational strategy, indication prioritisation, First-in-Human to Phase III trial design, medical monitoring, regulatory scientific advice preparation, clinical development planning, target product profile development, statistical and endpoint strategy discussions, clinical operations oversight, and scientific publication activities.
This is a clinical development and strategy position with exposure across the full asset lifecycle.
