Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable CDL Driver capable of operating across multiple hauling disciplines, including heavy haul, log truck driving. This role is ideal for a driver who thrives on variety, can switch between equipment types, and is comfortable working in rugged, remote, and dynamic environments.
You will be responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment, logs, materials, and time‑sensitive loads while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a variety of CDL‑class vehicles, including heavy haul rigs, log trucks, and hot shot trucks/trailers.
Transport heavy equipment, log loads, machinery, materials, and expedited loads as assigned.
Safely load, secure, and unload cargo using proper tie‑down and safety procedures.
Plan efficient routes based on load type, terrain, and project requirements.
Conduct thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections on all assigned vehicles and trailers.
Maintain accurate logs of hours, inspections, service, and repair needs.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, weight limits, permits, and company policies.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, job managers, customers, and field crews.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary.
Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a strong, proactive safety culture.
Adapt to changing job assignments, load types, and regional travel requirements.
Physical Requirements
Ability to drive for extended periods across long distances and varied terrain.
Must be able to walk on uneven, hazardous ground in challenging environmental conditions.
Ability to climb on and off trucks, trailers, and equipment using vertical rails and ladders safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid CDL with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Class A, doubles/triples, tanker as needed).
Proven experience in heavy haul, log hauling, hot shot driving, or a combination of these.
Strong understanding of DOT regulations, load securement, and safety standards.
Ability to operate, inspect, and maintain a variety of trucks and trailers.
Excellent driving record with no major violations.
Strong problem‑solving skills, situational awareness, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in remote or fast‑paced environments.
