Perform GMAW and FCAW welding on structural steel components while adhering to AWS D1.1 and ABS quality standards. Collaborate with advanced robotic systems to produce precision ship components and perform necessary repairs or refitting.
Requires proficiency in MIG and FCAW welding, the ability to read fabrication drawings, and physical capability to lift 75 lbs. Familiarity with structural welding codes and thermal cutting processes is essential.

We're closing that gap by developing autonomous robotic fabrication systems that produce precision structural ship components at unprecedented speed, quality, and scale. Our platform combines industrial robotics, machine vision, and adaptive manufacturing to do what decades of manual processes have not — deliver the throughput and consistency the industry needs to build again.
Welders at Valstad are central to our production operation. You’ll work alongside advanced robotic systems in a modern fabrication facility, producing structural steel components to exacting quality standards. We’re looking for experienced, detail-oriented welders who take pride in their craft and want to be part of something bigger.

American influence depends on sea power and the industrial base to support it, a base that has become dangerously anemic. Valstad is building highly automated factories to produce ships for commercial & defense customers 5x faster and at globally competitive prices. We focus on 3 key areas: 1. Reinventing the shipbuilding process with modular designs & automated production lines. 2. Accelerating the shift to sustainable transport. 3. Achieving full autonomy to relieve critical labor shortages. Our first facility will manufacture ships that transport cargo via inland & coastal waters at a scale not seen since WWII.
