The Department Manager is responsible for managing sales activities in retail and mall services departments, ensuring they are stocked, displayed, and staffed to meet sales goals. They also oversee customer relations and coordinate promotions and inventory management.
Candidates should have at least 3 years of general experience in retail or related fields, with 1 year of specialized experience in merchandise controls and customer relations. Education can substitute for experience under certain conditions.

Experience which was gained in administrative clerical retail sales or other related work which enabled the applicant to gain knowledge of selling floor operation practices and procedures skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships and the ability to exercise mature judgment.
1 year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for each 9 months of experience. Substitution of 1 year for 1 year in those instances where co-op experience is required of a student as part of the program study. AND 1 YEAR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Progressive experience which provided background in merchandise controls inventory stock record keeping and reports exempt or non-exempt supervisory experience merchandise display and retail promotions or experience in the area of customer relations in an effort to improve sales and maintain operating cost efficiencies.
