The Shop Technician maintains, repairs, and tests equipment used in oil and gas service operations to ensure operational readiness. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems and performing preventive maintenance on service units.
Candidates should have at least one year of practical equipment experience and a high school diploma or GED. Required abilities include basic math, measurement skills, and the physical capacity to lift at least 50 pounds.
Description
The Shop Technician supports field operations by maintaining, repairing, assembling, and testing equipment used in oil and gas service operations. This role is responsible for ensuring all tools, machinery, and service units are in safe, reliable working condition according to company and industry standards. Duties include troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems, performing preventive maintenance, documenting service records, and assisting with inventory control.
A successful Shop Technician demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow technical procedures, and collaborate effectively with field crews and supervisors to ensure operational readiness.
