Position Title: CNC Supervisor 
Wage Range: $31.00 - $39.00 per hour, depending on qualifications
Reports to: Plant Manager
FLSA Classification: Hourly, Non-exempt, eligible for over-time
Schedule: Flexible; preference to work during 1st shift hours (Monday - Thursday, 5:00am - 3:30pm) with overlap to 2nd shift and/or weekend shift as needed.

 

Position Summary

The CNC Supervisor provides leadership and direction for department operations, ensuring production goals are achieved through effective scheduling, employee development, quality oversight, and continuous improvement. This role leads CNC machining operations, supports employee growth, manages resources, and partners with leadership to improve productivity, safety, and overall operational success.


Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks

  • Leads by example and promotes cultural expectations related to Harmonized Manufacturing and all company policies.
  • Promotes continuous improvement through Harmonized Manufacturing practices.
  • Reads and analyzes work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine appropriate production requirements.
  • Works towards corporate goals of on-time delivery, productivity and quality and embraces customer satisfaction and promotes to employees.
  • Plans and establishes work schedules of employees to meet production goals.
  • Works with Shift Supervisor or appropriate management to resolve employee issues and complaints.
  • Responsible for employee reviews and disciplinary actions.
  • Diligently monitors budget to ensure department spending does not exceed the monthly budget.
  • Responsible for Inventory/Material Control.
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance on machining equipment.
  • May be responsible for Shift Supervisor responsibilities as needed or required.
    • Schedules work to meet production demand and works with other members of leadership to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and shifts.
    • Inspects materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
    • Demonstrates equipment operations, work and safety procedures to new employees, or assigns employees to experienced workers for training.
    • Observes work and monitors gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
    • Interprets specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for employees.
  • Responsible for knowing and following all environmental, health and safety rules, policies, and procedures for work area and takes responsibility to assure that personal work activity is conducted in such a way so as to not affect the safety of themselves or others.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Technical Skills

  • Associate degree or technical training preferred, with related manufacturing experience considered. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
  • One to two years CNC machining experience.
  • Six months supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with CNC machining operations and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of tooling, inspection processes, and machining equipment.
  • Experience using manufacturing systems or production tracking software.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling materials. The employee may occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical equipment, heat, vibration, noise, and airborne particles.
