We are currently hiring for the position of:
MARKET PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSISTANT
Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications – Market, the Market Public Relations Assistant supports the Marketing & Communications team by serving as an initial point of contact for accredited media and any other press or delegates seeking information related to the Market at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) from September 10-16. A key responsibility includes ensuring requests are handled professionally, in a timely manner, and directed to the appropriate team members when necessary.
The Market Public Relations Assistant may also support media monitoring and administrative duties as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Public Relations & Media Support
Serve as a first point of contact for accredited media and stakeholder inquiries, responding to routine questions and escalating complex or sensitive requests to the appropriate member of the Marketing & Communications team.
Assist with monitoring media coverage as needed.
Event & Stakeholder Coordination
Administrative Support
Assist with general, PR-related administrative duties on site at the MTCC
Provide insights and support the Marcomm team’s reporting and administrative tasks post Market.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
Professional and confident interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience with social media platforms and media monitoring tools is an asset.
Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as required during TIFF: The Market.
