JOB DESCRIPTION

 $2,000 SIGN ON BONUS

Summary/Objective: The CDL Driver is responsible for transporting goods from the Elkhart distribution centers to local customer locations within a 100-mile radius operating a semi tractor/trailer. 

Essential Functions: 

• Deliver freight.
• Manages proof of delivery paperwork from customers
• Loads and unloads trucks as needed.
• Checks mechanical aspects of vehicle.
• Perform inspections before and after a trip.
• Follows all safety rules.
• Operate a forklift; maintain forklift certification.
• Performs warehouse duties as needed.
• Maintain CDL Class A license to include DOT physical and driving requirements.
• Performs other duties as requested to full accountability

None 

Work Environment: 

This job operates in an outdoor environment, driving a vehicle with a weight over 26,001 pounds. This list is not all inclusive.

 

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to speak and listen. This position requires maneuvering large vehicles in crowded streets and highways; standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, as well as using hands and fingers to handle, feel, lift, and/or operate equipment; reach with hands and arms. The employee may be required to lift/move up to 50 pounds.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, occasionally overtime, as necessary.

Travel:

 Local travel within 100-mile radius

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Hold a valid CDL Class A
• 1 year of CDL driving experience
