Lead all phases of technical production for events and performances while overseeing theatrical systems and maintenance at the SFJAZZ Center. Manage technical staff and collaborate with internal departments to determine staffing and technical needs for shows.
Requires at least 6 years of experience in theatre or concert production and 4 years of supervisory experience in a technical environment. Must be proficient in audio, lighting, video, rigging, and various production software like Vectorworks.
SFJAZZ is looking for a Technical Director to lead SFJAZZ in all phases of the technical production of an event or performance by providing crucial support to SFJAZZ Artistic, Rentals, Development, Education, and Facilities departments.
The Technical Director has oversight responsibility of all theatrical systems at the SFJAZZ Center and collaborates closely with the Director of Production on maintenance schedules, capital improvements, budgets and establishing safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
In addition, the Technical Director manages and schedules the full-time and on-call technical staff and works closely with internal departments to determine staffing and technical needs for SFJAZZ events/shows. This position also provides on-site support for special events as needed.

Working Conditions
SFJAZZ has a hybrid work policy. SFJAZZ produces events and performances all times of the day/week. This position is required to be onsite a minimum of 4 days/week. Occasional evening/weekend shifts will be required. Physical requirements include the ability to safely navigate stairs, extended periods of time standing, working in dark environments, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
