Full job description

INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN | APPRENTICE (LEVEL 2+, must have a minimum of 4000 documented hours) | TRAVEL POSITION

ABOUT THIS ROLE

This role is built for a Level 2+ apprentice who's ready to travel for work. Jobs are typically based in Michigan, but frequently take crews out to Ohio, Indiana, and other states for stretches of a few weeks at a time (occasionally longer). If you're comfortable being away from home for extended runs and want to keep building toward your Journeyman license while doing it, this is the role.

Industrial experience is strongly preferred. While residential and commercial electrical experience can provide a foundation, it does not fully translate to the demands of this position. We're looking for electricians with proven industrial experience- troubleshooting, large conduit and wire pulls, motor controls, 480V systems, transformers, and working within industrial environments, who can contribute from day one and hit the road when a job calls for it.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive Pay based on your experience and level, with a clear path upward
  • Full Benefits Package: Health, dental, vision, life insurance, and HSA
  • Paid Time Off
  • 401(k) with matching
  • Safety-First Culture: Safety Equipment & Uniforms Provided
  • Real Growth Paths: this role is designed to grow with you. Journeyman → Project Manager → Branch Manager
  • In-House Apprenticeship Program: structured development to advance your career and licensure

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Directing and managing electrical work on industrial job sites
  • Training and mentoring newer team members and apprentices
  • Inspecting installations to ensure quality and code compliance
  • Upholding and enforcing job site safety standards (PPE, OSHA, NEC)
  • Troubleshooting electrical issues from start to finish, often without complete schematics or full operator information
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, rough sketches, plans, and specifications
  • Wiring 120V, 480V, and low voltage systems
  • Working with lighting, transformers, motor controls, and switchboards
  • Measuring, threading, bending, and running EMT and rigid conduit (½" – 4")
  • Sizing feeders and managing tooling requirements per job
  • Communicating clearly with customers, the service manager, and the team
  • Organizing and planning projects of varying scale
  • Attending job site meetings and contributing to project coordination

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

  • Level 2 apprentice minimum, with at least 4,000 documented industrial hours
  • Demonstrated hands-on industrial electrical experience (verifiable, not just listed as a skill)
  • Ability to troubleshoot from start to finish without relying on schematics or complete customer information
  • Proficient with 120V, 480V, and low voltage systems
  • Working knowledge of motor controls, transformers, lighting, and switchboards
  • Experience with feeder sizing requirements
  • Ability to measure, thread, bend, and run EMT and rigid conduit up to 4"
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC code
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, plans, drawings, and rough sketches
  • Comfortable working with minimal supervision
  • Capable of training less experienced electricians
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and ERP systems
  • Willing and able to travel to job sites
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS

  • Travel is a regular part of this job, not an occasional exception
  • Trips typically run a few weeks at a time before returning home
  • Primary travel footprint is MI, OH, and IN, but jobs can take you anywhere
  • Travel logistics are handled for you
