The role
The Manager plays a lead role in coordinating the firm’s quality control support activities and helping ensure compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality processes. Working closely with the Quality Control Committee, the role supports monitoring, practice inspection readiness, reporting, and the implementation of quality-related tools and workflows. The role also contributes to the firm’s professional practice learning strategy by supporting the design, coordination, and delivery of technical learning programs aligned with firm priorities and CPD requirements.
What you will dd
1) Quality Control Coordination and Support
· Coordinate the firm’s ongoing quality control support activities, including internal monitoring, external practice inspection readiness, and follow-up on identified actions.
· Work closely with the Quality Control Committee to support compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality policies, tools, and methodologies.
· Support quality-related reporting and tracking activities, including Independence Confirmation monitoring, CPAB reporting, and the documentation of remediation and follow-up items.
· Review technical accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial statements, templates, and selected practice support deliverables.
· Monitor upcoming changes in professional standards and help coordinate updates to firm guidance, tools, and workflows to support compliance.
· Help maintain quality control documentation, resources, and tracking mechanisms to support consistency, auditability, and operational effectiveness across the practice.
2) Learning Strategy, Design, Coordination & Execution
· Support the firm’s professional practice learning strategy by helping identify priority technical learning needs aligned with quality, compliance, and CPD requirements.
· Conduct learning needs assessments and translate findings into practical, role-relevant learning plans and resources.
· Identify and engage subject matter experts to support content development and coordinate the compilation, organization, and maintenance of learning materials.
· Support the design and delivery of technical learning programs, including co-developing materials and facilitating sessions where appropriate.
· Manage learning logistics, including maintaining the learning calendar, scheduling sessions, sending invitations, tracking attendance, and administering LMS activities.
· Help ensure learning programs align with CPD requirements and support firm-wide compliance tracking and reporting.
3) Tools, Templates & Workflow Coordination
· Coordinate the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of financial statement templates and other practice support tools and workflows.
· Maintain firm practice support and learning resources on SharePoint to ensure content remains current, accessible, and aligned with quality control and learning priorities.
What You Bring
Must haves:
· Post-secondary education with 6+ years of experience within professional services, ideally in a public accounting environment.
· Strong understanding of Canadian accounting and assurance standards, professional requirements, and quality management expectations within an accounting firm environment.
· Experience supporting quality control or quality management activities, practice inspections, compliance processes, or related professional practice initiatives.
· Demonstrated ability to review technical content, coordinate reporting and follow-up activities, and maintain documentation, tools, and workflows with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
· Self-starter with a collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with practice leaders, committees, and subject matter experts.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice to haves:
· Canadian CPA designation
· Experience with CPD governance, reporting, or accreditation requirements.
· Experience supporting the design, coordination, or delivery of technical learning programs in accounting or assurance.
· Teaching and/or facilitation experience in accounting, assurance, or professional services.
· Familiarity with LMS platforms, learning administration, and learning analytics.
· Exposure to external technical training ecosystems and professional development resources.
