The Motor Technician is responsible for the inspection, analysis, testing, and repair of directional motors and oilfield drilling components. They must also maintain a safe workspace, manage inventory, and accurately document all service work performed.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and have the ability to operate specialized machinery such as overhead cranes and forklifts. Proficiency in using measuring tools like micrometers and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment are required.
Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: CONROE, TX 77301Salary Range: $17.00 - $25.00 HourlyJob Shift: AnyThe Motor Technician will inspect, analyze, test, measure, repair and perform full or partial overhauls on assemblies or subassemblies of directional motors, and other oilfield drilling components.
Perform entire disassembly and reassembly of equipment to pristine condition and ensure that all tools and test equipment are fully serviceable prior to the start of repair work and are fully accounted for after each repair
Operate overhead crane, forklift, and break-out machine effectively and safely
Complete related documentation and record all information on Service Work Orders correctly and efficiently
Utilize proper measuring equipment for each function
Utilize proper tooling to execute motor maintenance
Maintain safe, clean and organized workspace
Maintain complete tool maintenance records as required
Accurately report inventory consumption
Seek appropriate approval prior for component scrap
Assure compliance with reliability objectives, root cause analysis and corrective actions
Some repair and maintenance of plant equipment required
Assist with physical asset / inventory counts
Assist with maintenance of inventory and shop supplies
Paint and stencil tools
Perform other duties as assigned
QualificationsQualifications and Education Requirements
Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-pressured, and fast-paced environment
Ability to comprehend production requirements
Ability to speak, read, and write the English language fluently
Ability to operate torque machine, overhead crane, forklift and other related equipment
Ability to read a tape measure, micrometers, and other measuring equipment
