Candidates must have 12 months of continuous manufacturing experience, preferably in food production. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for 8-12 hour shifts, and work in varying temperature environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Members spreads icing on layer cakes, either between the layers and stacks one layer of cake on top of the other, or spreads icing on the top and sides of the layer cake.  
  • Team Member must know the product specifications and remove damaged or rejected layers and/or cakes from the belt and places in the appropriate receptacle. 
  • Team Member must know and be willing to maintain the required number of cakes per minute. 
  • Team Member works with others as a team to complete tasks in an efficient manner, to ensure the line is ready to start and to minimize downtime. 
  • Completes paperwork as needed, for example: crew sheets, downtime reports, etc. 
  • All Team Members are required to adhere to Sara Lee Frozen Bakery’s policies, procedures, SQF 2000, Good Manufacturing Practices and Global Business Standards. 
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to include, but not limited to cross training on other machines and in other areas.

Requirements:

  • 12 months of continuous work experience with the same employer in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Prior work experience in food manufacturing. 
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Practice good safety habits and have a good safety record.
  • Practice good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
  • Have and maintain good attendance.
  • Practice good housekeeping at all times.
  • Must be able to work with support groups to make sure lines are ready to start on time and minimized downtime.
  • Must know product specifications and how to maintain correct specifications and lines speeds.
  • Must be willing to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must be willing to be flexible.
  • Must be willing to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be willing to work 8-12 hour shifts - standing.
  • Must be willing to work in a production environment requiring safety glasses, hair/beard net, hearing protection, and rubber boots with safety toe. All PPE is provided by Sara Lee Frozen Bakery.
  • Must be willing to withstand cold and hot environments
  • Must sweep and clean area during and after shift.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to include, but not limited to cross training in other areas.
