Help Drive Operational Excellence in Food ProductionA growing food manufacturing organization is seeking a Manufacturing Team Lead to oversee daily production activities within a regulated processing environment. This role is responsible for supporting workforce performance, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring production goals are achieved efficiently and safely.

Position SummaryAs a Manufacturing Team Lead, you will coordinate day-to-day production activities, provide guidance to frontline employees, and work closely with cross-functional departments to ensure smooth operations. Success in this role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

 

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Oversight

• Coordinate daily workflow to ensure production schedules are met
• Monitor staffing levels and adjust resources based on operational needs
• Lead shift start-up meetings and facilitate effective shift transitions
• Support efficient production flow while minimizing downtime

Team Leadership

• Train, mentor, and support production personnel
• Foster a positive and accountable workplace culture
• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance guidance
• Encourage employee engagement and professional development

Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with food safety programs and operational procedures
• Promote adherence to sanitation, quality, and regulatory standards
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation
• Support internal inspections and external audits

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve productivity and operational efficiency
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and waste reduction efforts
• Review performance metrics and help implement corrective actions
• Contribute ideas that support long-term operational success

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with maintenance teams to address equipment-related issues
• Coordinate with quality, inventory, and supply chain departments
• Communicate operational updates and production concerns to leadership
• Assist in resolving challenges that impact daily operations

QualificationsQualified candidates will typically possess:

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial operations
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Experience in food manufacturing or other highly regulated industries is highly desirable
• Understanding of workplace safety and quality systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools
• Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Work Environment

• Manufacturing facility operating under food safety and regulatory standards
• Exposure to refrigerated production areas may occur
• Position requires standing, walking, and active participation on the production floor
• Occasional lifting and movement of materials may be required
• Fast-paced environment with production deadlines and operational priorities
