Provide comprehensive speech-language support for infants and toddlers within a transdisciplinary team. Deliver home and community-based interventions using a coaching model to integrate developmental activities into daily routines.
Requires a Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology, a current Kansas license, and ASHA certification (CCC-SLP). Prior experience with children with special needs is preferred.
Description
The Speech Language Pathologist serves on a transdisciplinary team for families enrolled in the Infant Toddler Program. They provide comprehensive and integrated support, as is outlined in the Part C Program Manual for Infants and Toddlers in Kansas.
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
WORK PACE: Self-paced, requiring the ability to think and act quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding work environment. May require some extended workdays, but able to flex hours throughout the work week.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a remote position that also operates in family homes, and community settings as needed. Requires travel between RUI sites, family homes, and other community agencies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Manage all job duties with mobility, agility, and dexterity. Ability to lift a maximum of 40 pounds. Sometimes will work in a noisy environment with many interruptions. May be exposed to communicable diseases.
Sitting: 6 - 7 hours in an 8 hour work shift; may occasionally alternate to standing or walking.
Standing: 1 - 2 hours in an 8 hour work shift. Alternates to sitting on a frequent basis
Walking: 1/2 - 1 hour in an 8 hour work shift.
