The Director of Health Information Services oversees the development and implementation of health information policies, privacy standards, and electronic health record systems. They are responsible for supervising staff and ensuring organizational compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.
Candidates must hold an RHIA or RHIT certification and possess at least two years of management experience in health information policy and compliance. Proficiency in privacy laws, electronic health information systems, and project management principles is required.
Plans, develops, and administers the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures regarding health information, privacy, and access to patient health information in compliance with federal and state regulations and statues and PCHC needs. Work with management and staff to implement, maintain and improve our electronic health records. Supervises Health Information Staff.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
3. Participates in the development, implementation, and ongoing compliance monitoring of all trading partner and business associate agreements, to ensure all privacy/security concerns, requirements, and responsibilities are addressed
MANAGERIAL PERFORMANCE
- Attend organization-wide orientation within 60 days of hire.
-Are oriented to the department through a departmental orientation.
-Are oriented to the job, through a job specific orientation, insuring that competencies are successfully completed.
- Ensures that Probationary Reviews are conducted for each new hire, rehire, transferred, promoted, dual job holder, contractor individual with 90 days of occurrence.
- Works cooperatively with others actively contributing to the team. Actively collaborates with other departments and disciplines to ensure the effective operation of the organization
