Job DetailsJob Location: Greensboro, NC 27406POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Control (QC) Specialist is responsible for ensuring that products, materials, and processes meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves performing inspections, tests, and audits, analyzing data, and reporting findings to ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The QC Specialist plays a key role in maintaining product integrity, minimizing defects, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Manage PFN (T styles) and Sontara (X styles) Lab Dispos.

Check daily reports and compare to previous day’s reports

pending dispos
lab failures
reswatches, etc.

For lab pending dispos

check to see if dispo has finished running in manufacturing.
check lab data sheets to make sure they are all in the folder for all samples.
all testing completed
check for failures
if retesting/reswatching was completed make sure in was done correctly
check to make sure the correct rolls were failed for reswatch or final failed correctly in Genesis.

Subcode final fail rolls as needed

If everything is good and completed, pass dispo.
If not get with Quality Manger to see if failure can be signed off on or if not then make sure rolls are failed for reswatch in Gensis.
check to make sure that manufacturing has brought all samples to the lab.

That there are no missing samples.

Maintain master list of reswatches needed.

Request reswatches from plant/DC.
Get reswatches from swatch boxes at frame(s)
control swatch boxes in the lab from the frame(s)
Send out master reswatch list(s) at least 3 times per week.

Cut out and test reswatches when QC lab is short staffed or backlogged.
Work with planning, customer service on dispo priorities

Become a certified trainer
Audit lab technicians on tests, based on published audit schedule, to ensure that their training was effective
Training videos for tests
Calibration checks

Daily
Weekly
Monthly

Learning Minitab Statical Software

Data analysis
Lab Co-ops – between techs

Learn how to do PFG certs for PFN and Sontara – then take over these certs.

Learn how to do all NWs
Learn how to do all Wovens
To be a backup for Candi & Stacey when they are out or they are backlogged.

Assist QC Lab Manager with special assignments
Assist Quality Mangers with special assignments
Become an ISO auditor
Review Lab DJTs quarterly for correctness or changes needed.
Review lab training packets quarterly for correctness or changes needed
Review P&G lab data folders for completion and errors correction
Review P&G BPR for completion
Fill in for regular lab testing as needed

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have basic lab and math skills.
  • Must be able to perform routine lab tests on greige, raw materials, chemicals and finished products.
  • Must be capable of computer data enter, record keeping, calibrations, charting graphs, making solutions and standards.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This job is conducted in a manufacturing setting and office environment .
  • Work is sedentary in nature along with standing and walking up to 35% of the time. Must have ability to bend, kneel, and reach.
  • Must have good vision.
  • Frequent computer use at workstation, and at times, can be up to 75% of daily duties.
  • Must be able to exert up to 20 - 50 lbs. of force occasionally.
  • Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
  • Nosie level is monitored through a hearing conservation program
  • Responsibilities may occasionally require adjusted work schedules and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines

LANGUAGE/COMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Language proficiency to read, write, understand and communicate essential job functions and safety
