  • Reviews potable water distribution systems, sanitary drainage systems, venting systems, storm drainage systems, grease interceptors, lift stations, medical gas systems, reclaimed water systems, and related plumbing installations.

  • Evaluates fixture counts, pipe sizing, water demand calculations, drainage fixture unit calculations, and other engineering data to ensure code compliance.

  • Reviews backflow prevention requirements, cross-connection control measures, and public health safeguards in accordance with applicable codes and standards.

  • Reviews accessibility requirements related to plumbing fixtures and facilities for compliance with applicable accessibility regulations.

  • Coordinates plan reviews with other disciplines including building, mechanical, electrical, fire, structural, zoning, and public works.

  • Provides technical assistance and code interpretations to architects, engineers, contractors, developers, property owners, and the general public.

  • Responds to inquiries regarding permit requirements, plumbing design criteria, code compliance, and plan review procedures.

  • Maintains accurate records of plan reviews, approvals, corrections, permit documentation, and related correspondence.

  • Assists in developing and implementing departmental policies, procedures, and standards related to plumbing plan review activities.

  • Participates in meetings with design professionals and project stakeholders to resolve complex plumbing code and system design issues.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
