Job DetailsJob Location: Washington, DC 20036Salary Range: $23.00 - $29.00 HourlyScope: The Building Maintenance Engineer will complete preventive maintenance and repairs in a professional workmanlike manner at a contract client facilities. He/She will assist in the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of buildings and equipment; maintain inventory of supplies and products; and respond to service calls in order to ensure smooth building operations. General Building Maintenance work includes but is not limited to minor Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting, Hardware, etc.
Duties
Perform preventative maintenance tasks and conduct inspections on a regular basis to determine the need and extent of service required.
Maintain library of parts list, maintenance manuals, reference books and catalogues.
Complete repair and maintenance work orders as generated via project’s CMMS system.
Maintain a supply of inventory necessary for optimal operating efficiency by initiating purchase orders for maintenance supplies, machinery, equipment, parts and services as needed.
Perform event set up and take down services
Manage emergency response tasks in any project related emergencies such as fire alarms, power outages, drain line clogs, weather related emergencies, and any other emergency type situations.
Ensure compliance with Client policies, procedures, codes, regulations, government agency directives as well as Contractor’s best practices/policies and procedures.
Provide and foster positive relationships with Client’s employees, visitors and occupants.
Be available to respond to emergency calls and participate in after-hours emergency response call list.

High school diploma
Communicate effectively in English in speaking and writing
Five years related experience in all general phases of preventive maintenance and repair including but not limited to carpentry, drywall, painting, hardware, flooring, ceilings, plumbing, and electrical (minimum)
Some technical knowledge and understanding of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system operation helpful.
Basic computer literacy to be able to create, update, and complete work orders via a CMMS, create and respond to emails, attach pictures, and report hours worked via time keeping application.
Able to work Monday-Friday with occasional overtime during afternoons, evenings and weekends as needed
Must be able to work varied shifts as scheduled possibly including weekends
Possess current, valid driver’s license (not under suspension or limitation)
Good physical condition with ability to lift 75 lbs. and possessing good fine motor coordination and ability to withstand exposure to dust, fumes, heights, and confined spaces
