At PGA TOUR Superstore, we’re always looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible individuals who will share a passion for helping transform our business. As one of the fastest growing specialty retailers, we’re dedicated to hiring selfless team players from different backgrounds to influence the growth of our organization. Part of the Arthur M. Blank Family of Businesses, PGA TOUR Superstore continuously strives to create a family culture for our Associates – driven by our vision to inspire people through golf and tennis.
Position Summary
PGA TOUR Superstore is seeking a Data Governance Lead to build and advance our enterprise data governance program. This role will be responsible for improving data quality, protecting sensitive information assets, and establishing the policies, standards, and practices needed to support consistent and trustworthy data across the organization.
In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact and escalation for data governance and data quality issues, partnering closely with Business, Functional, and Technology stakeholders to define data stewardship responsibilities and drive adoption of governance frameworks across the enterprise.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with data governance programs, a working knowledge of data quality and protection best practices, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain an enterprise data governance framework — policies, standards, roles, and metrics — to drive consistency, quality, and protection of the organization’s data assets.
Define governance roles and responsibilities, ensuring clear accountability across Business and Functional areas; build and coordinate the enterprise data steward and domain owner network spanning Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, Planning, and Operations.
Lead change management for governance adoption — including stakeholder communications, training, and adoption tracking — to drive lasting behavioral change across the enterprise.
Serve as the primary liaison between Business, Functional, and Technology teams to ensure data quality and protection requirements are incorporated into operational priorities.
Develop and maintain an inventory of enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, data owners, data catalog entries, and lineage documentation.
Facilitate the development and adoption of data quality standards and data protection requirements across the enterprise, tracking compliance and driving resolution of issues.
Define and monitor key performance indicators and quality metrics; produce progress reports for leadership and provide periodic updates to the data governance committee.
Facilitate the Data Governance Council — a cross-functional forum spanning Technology, Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, and Operations — to ratify standards and resolve data domain disputes.
Stay current on relevant regulations, industry trends, and emerging data governance frameworks; assess applicability and integrate requirements into existing policies and practices.
Partner with peer teams across Technology, Risk, Business, and Information Security to align data management priorities and risk controls, championing a culture of data stewardship throughout the organization.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information management or a related field preferred.
3–5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field; demonstrated ability to operate with ownership and drive results in ambiguous, early-stage program environments.
Solid knowledge of industry-leading data quality and data protection management practices, including metadata management, data cataloging, lineage, and data privacy.
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and emerging trends in data management and protection.
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive adoption of governance standards, policies, and change management initiatives.
Familiarity with data governance and cataloging tools (e.g., Collibra, Atlan, or similar) and modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data issues into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience in retail, specialty retail, or a similar consumer-facing industry preferred.
Knowledge of data risk architecture and technology solutions; familiarity with data risk and control frameworks a plus.
Working knowledge of SQL and familiarity with dbt or similar data transformation frameworks a plus; ability to engage productively with Data Architects on data modeling and lineage traceability.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Monday – Friday onsite, based out of our Roswell, GA Store Support Center. Flexibility to work extended and varied hours as needed.
Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time as the job is completed primarily at a desk each day. Variable desk heights are offered so alternatively sitting and/or standing at the desk is optional.
