Full job description
12 Month Fixed Term Contract
This is a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering strategic change across our Retail Transformation agenda. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Business Change Manager who can bring structure, pace and clarity to a high-profile programme of work.
At Pets at Home, we’re on an ambitious journey to become the best pet care business in the world. To get there, we’re continuing to evolve how our retail business operates, making sure our strategy, customer experience and transformation priorities are clearly connected and delivered at pace.
About the Role
As Senior Business Change Manager, you’ll help lead the delivery of strategic priorities across the Retail Turnaround Plan, bringing structure, clarity and momentum to key workstreams.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders, workstream owners and frontline stakeholders to ensure change activity is aligned to the wider retail and business strategy. You’ll provide the governance, insight and communication needed to help teams make informed decisions, manage risks and dependencies, and embed new ways of working that deliver sustainable outcomes.
This is a high-profile, hybrid role based from our Support Office in Handforth.
What you’ll do
Support the development and delivery of the Retail Transformation strategy, mission and objectives.
Ensure workstream priorities are aligned to wider retail and business plans.
Develop clear frameworks, plans and governance to support successful delivery.
Use insight, analysis and customer understanding to shape direction and measure success.
Build strong relationships with Executive leaders, workstream leads and frontline teams.
Create clear communication and engagement plans to support adoption of change.
Identify and manage risks, actions and dependencies across programme activity.
Provide regular, executive-ready updates and recommendations for senior decision-making.
Support delivery of current priorities while preparing the business for future initiatives.
About You
You’ll be an experienced change or transformation professional who is confident working in a fast-paced, complex environment.
You’ll bring:
Experience in strategic change, business transformation, programme delivery or Go-To-Market.
A strong understanding of retail operations, customer experience and commercial drivers.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and facilitation skills.
Confidence working with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn insight into clear recommendations.
Experience managing governance, risks, dependencies and programme plans.
The ability to create clear, concise and compelling content for senior audiences.
A practical, resilient and adaptable approach to driving change.
Experience in retail, multi-channel environments or large-scale transformation programmes would be advantageous, but we’re also open to hearing from people from other industries who bring the right skills and expertise.
Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take inspiration from pets and value difference in all its forms. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. Even if your experience doesn’t perfectly align, if you believe you can bring something unique, we’d love to hear from you.
