Overview:
The Field Application Engineer is an integral part of our Customer Success (CS) activities in US, supporting our customers testing operations. In this position you will be based in Cupertino, CA, but traveling to customer sites is essential when needed. The work will revolve around installation and commissioning of new testing equipment as well as application of sustainable repair, preventive maintenance, and improvement solutions over the life cycle of the testers, both remotely and on-site at our customers’ facilities.
This role requires strong technical understanding, customer serving attitude, and ability to work under pressure. The Field Application Engineers are supported by a team of engineers and SW/HW designers, and to succeed in the role you need strong communication skills.
You are the person we are looking for if you prefer to work by learning new skills, solving problems and want to work with the latest technologies. You work independently, hands-on, and responsibly, and enjoy interacting with (internal and external) customers, and know what effective teamwork is all about.
Requirements:
Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Mechatronics/Mechanics/Robotics/Electrical/Optics Engineering or equivalent
At least 1-3 years of previous work experience
Skills:
Basic understanding of mechatronics / robotics /optics
Ability to read electric plans/drawings
Experience from servo drives/controllers and encoders and low-voltage circuits
Capability to learn to use different SW solutions/applications
Understand the requirements of working at the customer interface
Ability to work under pressure (R&D or production environment)
Systematic approach to troubleshooting and documenting resolutions
Desire to learn new skills and develop/improve ways to work
Readiness to travel in US and Asia, 60-70% travel might be required
