The ideal candidate is a natural helper and multitasker with strong communication skills and a systems-thinking approach to scheduling. They must be capable of building strong relationships with families and community partners.
Full job description
Let’s be honest: families don’t remember the name of a scheduling system. They remember the person who made their week easier.
At North Shore Pediatric Therapy, that person is the Family Child Advocate (FCA) — the calm in the chaos, the voice of reassurance, the behind-the-scenes orchestrator ensuring every child gets the care they deserve and every clinician walks into a day that runs smoothly.
Here, FCAs are trusted partners to families, real-time problem solvers, and key players in providing the exceptional experience NSPT is known for. When a parent is overwhelmed, a child needs an urgent reschedule, or a clinic is juggling 30 moving pieces at once… you’re the one who turns stress into solutions.
This is a full-time, in-center position based out of our Lake Bluff, IL location. Approximately 50% of your time will be spent in the community building relationships.
Why This Role Matters
Every hour of therapy counts — for a child learning to eat independently, say their sibling’s name, or build the confidence they’ve never had before. You make those moments possible by keeping schedules full, communication clear, and families supported.
Across our centers, our therapists, Clinical Directors, and families will tell you the same thing: “I don’t know what we’d do without our FCA.”
Who Thrives in This Role
A natural helper who finds joy in making someone’s day smoother.
A multitasker who can juggle 10 moving pieces without losing the warmth in their voice.
A communicator who knows how to spin chaos into clarity.
A schedules-and-systems thinker who loves finding the fastest path to a solution.
A relationship-builder who wants families to feel seen, supported, and appreciated.
If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply!
What You’ll Do
Family Experience & Operations
Be the go-to support for families (schedule changes, questions, updates)
Turn cancellations into makeups and keep schedules running smoothly
Make real-time adjustments as things shift
Partner with Clinical Directors and therapists
Keep the clinic organized, stocked, and running efficiently
Marketing & Growth (≈50%)
Support local outreach efforts (schools, events, community partners)
Help coordinate and host tours for prospective families
Assist with center events and family engagement initiatives
Drive online reputation (reviews, testimonials, family follow-ups)
Partner with leadership on simple, high-impact marketing efforts
Be the face of the center in the community
Why You’ll Love Working Here
You’re not just managing logistics — you’re shaping a family’s entire experience of therapy. You’ll join a supportive team, build real relationships with families, and play a vital part in helping kids access the care they need.
If you’re looking for a role where every day is meaningful and every detail matters, we’d love to talk.

North Shore Pediatric Therapy has been Chicagoland’s home for early intervention pediatric therapy for over 20 years. We provide interdisciplinary care for children with autism and developmental needs across 8 centers from Lake Bluff to Bucktown, plus a dedicated Neuropsychology Testing Center in Des Plaines.
It takes a village. Ours is licensed.
BCBAs, SLPs, OTs, PTs, neuropsychologists, and mental health providers work side by side — often co-treating the same child — so families get a coordinated plan, not a coordination problem. Our SLPs work in AAC, feeding, and language development. Our OTs handle sensory integration, fine motor, and school readiness. Our BCBAs focus on individualized ABA. None of it happens in isolation.
Our centers are loud, bright, joyful places. Spirit weeks. Team dinners. The coworker who shows up on a hard afternoon without being asked. The kid who says their first word and the whole center hears about it. That’s the culture we mean when we say culture.
For families: integrated care that adapts to your child, not the other way around.
For clinicians — BCBAs, SLPs, OTs, and mental health therapists alike: a quality-of-care model built around clinical judgment, not productivity quotas. Caseloads that allow real clinical work. Free in-house CEUs as a BACB ACE Provider. $500 annual PD stipend. 25+ days off in your first year. Many of our Clinical Directors started as clinicians at NSPT.
Currently hiring BCBAs, SLPs, OTs, mental health therapists, and behavior technicians across our Chicagoland centers. Explore at nspt4kids.com/careers.
