WHAT WE OFFER

We estimate the salary range for this position to be between $65,000 and $75,000 annually. Additionally, we offer extended health and dental benefits, Group RSP with employer matching, a generous bank of wellness days, and industry perks. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Reporting to the Manager, Procurement RM, you will be the product expert for raw materials procurement. Your main primary responsibility is to ensure continuity of supply of raw materials to meet customer and market demands. This position will be the liaison for all purchasing activities with raw material suppliers. In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to oversee a streamlined and effective materials management process. You will build supplier relationships aligned with the requirements to deliver quality, sustainable products in a timely and consistent manner. Your role is critical in optimizing our procurement operations and contributing to our overall success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Execute supply plans for raw materials by aligning purchasing activities with production requirements and adjusting for lead time fluctuations and demand shifts.

Regularly review supplier lead times to support adjustments to procurement schedules that ensure on-time and agile material delivery.

Collaborate with Supply Planning to support safety stock analysis and optimize inventory levels in accordance with business targets.

Develop and maintain procurement schedules across all manufacturing sites, ensuring key data is entered accurately into the ERP system.

Manage material costs within assigned supplier portfolios by executing negotiated pricing and identifying optimization opportunities.

Identify and implement cost-saving actions such as alternate sourcing, volume leveraging, or optimized order patterns.

Provide recommendations to planning teams on safety stock modifications based on usage trends and supply risk.

Coordinate timely resolution of supplier quality concerns in collaboration with internal quality and operations teams

Communicate with suppliers to support delivery planning that aligns with cash flow and operational efficiency goals.

Monitor material usage trends and flag slow-moving or obsolete inventory (SLOB), coordinating with relevant teams on appropriate mitigation actions.

Contribute to early-stage cost estimates and supplier data for new product or contract opportunities.

Stay informed of market trends and geopolitical risks, escalating relevant supply concerns to management and supporting short-term mitigation discussions.

Track supplier performance and escalate recurring issues to the Buying Manager for review and follow-up.

Support quarterly supplier reviews by compiling relevant performance data and insights.

Promote a collaborative team culture by sharing knowledge, supporting peers, and encouraging solution-oriented discussions.

Maintain ethical standards and transparency in all procurement transactions in line with company policies.

Travel domestically and internationally as required to support supplier relations or procurement initiatives.

Participate in strategic sourcing and supply chain improvement projects as delegated by Director, Global Sourcing and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

Post Secondary education in Business Management, Supply Chain Management and a minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain planning, procurement.

Experience working and building relationships with global raw material manufacturers.

Strong knowledge of best practices in planning, supply chain management, procurement, material management and inventory control.

Proven collaborative management competencies at all levels of an organization, and strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Compelling vision that inspires individuals and teams to embrace change and continually focus on performance improvement.

Highly analytical and able to present data in a cohesive manner.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing environment and comfortable with uncertainty and quick adjustments.

Proficient in handling multiple projects simultaneously and collaborates effectively with cross functionals.

Skilled at managing difficult conversation both with internal and external stakeholders.

Able to balance the management of positive vendor relationship with the business needs and objectives of Mustang Survival.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite and experience with ERP systems
