Join our Legacy
Reporting to Electrical/Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, panels, machinery, and control equipment by performing their electrical knowledge in accordance with our safety standards.
Your Contribution to Excellence
- Perform entry-level electrical tasks under supervision, in accordance with standard electrical practices and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Interpret basic electrical schematics and diagrams to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- Apply foundational electrical principles, including Ohm’s Law, current flow, and resistance, in practical work applications.
- Complete routine preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, including tightening connection points, conducting thermal inspections, and validating sensors.
- Perform basic troubleshooting with limited supervision, including diagnosing issues such as loss of power, blown fuses, or loose connections.
- Read and interpret schematics to identify existing wiring configurations and support installation or modification of equipment.
- Install and route wiring through various conduit types, including EMT, RMC, PVC-coated, and PVC.
- Terminate and connect wiring using appropriate methods based on application requirements.
- Assist with mechanical and electrical repairs, including replacing gearboxes, maintaining electric motor bearings, and testing motors for shorts or opens using a megger, as well as utilizing AC/DC voltage and amp meters.
- Conduct basic continuity testing to verify circuit integrity, compatibility, and safe operation of components.
- Monitor equipment performance to detect hazards or malfunctions and notify supervisors of issues requiring escalation.
- Repair or assist in repairing defective equipment and systems to maintain operational efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while meeting established productivity and efficiency standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors and comply with all safety policies, including proactive identification and reporting of hazards.
- Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety requirements; promptly report any food safety, environmental, social compliance or quality concerns, demonstrate flexibility to meet operational needs (including overtime and shift changes), and perform other duties as assigned.
What you Bring to the Table:
- High school diploma, GED, or technical training with at least one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred: prior experience as an electrician in a manufacturing environment).
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow written instructions accurately while applying sound judgment (preferred: strong understanding of safety procedures).
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, prioritize tasks, and meet performance expectations in a fast-paced environment (preferred: effective time management skills).
- Commitment to maintaining safe and compliant work practices (preferred: familiarity with manufacturing standards and workplace safety protocols).
The Setting for Your Success
This role requires operation of forklifts, aerial lifts, golf carts, and other equipment, and involves working around active machinery in both indoor and outdoor settings, including areas with uneven surfaces.
Employees are regularly exposed to elevated noise levels, temperature extremes, dust, fumes, and cleaning chemicals, particularly during maintenance and sanitation activities. The position may also require occasional work at heights.
