The Lymphedema Occupational Therapist is responsible for delivering specialized hands-on care, including evaluation and treatment planning for lymphedema. They must also educate patients on self-management and collaborate with the care team to ensure effective clinical outcomes.
Candidates must hold an Occupational Therapy degree and possess or be eligible for licensure in Louisiana. Additionally, they are required to have or be committed to obtaining lymphedema training or certification.
As a Lymphedema Occupational Therapist, you’ll deliver specialized, hands-on care that helps patients move with less swelling, more comfort, and renewed confidence. This role exists to bring expert lymphatic management into every plan of care—so progress feels real and measurable.
Responsibilities include evaluation and treatment planning for lymphedema, providing evidence-based interventions, educating patients and caregivers on long-term self-management, documenting clearly, and collaborating with the care team to keep outcomes on track.
Required qualifications/skills:
- OT degree and current licensure (or eligibility) in Louisiana
- Lymphedema training/certification (or strong commitment to obtain)
- Excellent patient communication and clinical reasoning
- Organized documentation and time management
