Mitsui Chemicals America (MCA) is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a variety of accounting functions while contributing to accurate financial reporting and continuous improvement within the Accounting team.

What You’ll Do
Accounts Payable & Expense Processing
Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports in ERP and Concur systems
Review and manage corporate credit card transactions
Support weekly payment runs and cash disbursement activities
Month-End Close & Reporting
Assist with monthly close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and workpapers
Prepare service fee invoices and support periodic financial reporting
Assist with account analysis and reporting to internal and global stakeholders
Financial Operations Support
Maintain accurate vendor and employee records within ERP and expense systems
Support bank reconciliations and general accounting tasks
Assist in preparing sales reports and related journal entries
Process & Team Support
Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures
Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations
What Sets You Apart
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
1–2 years of accounting or related experience preferred
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Experience with ERP systems and Concur or similar expense tools is a plus
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
General Requirements
Ability to commute 2x a week to White Plains, NY
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving
Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within the role
