JOB SUMMARY
The Inventory Clerk reports to the Senior Manager of Product Supply and provides essential support to Mechanix Wear's inventory control operations. This entry-level role assists with the physical and system-side tasks associated with inbound receiving, cycle counting, inventory transfers, and recordkeeping — helping to ensure accurate stock levels across warehouse and ERP systems. This position is a hybrid warehouse and office role, requiring extended periods of standing and working on the warehouse floor as well as time at a desk performing data entry and system-related tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inbound Receiving Support
• Assist with the physical receiving of inbound shipments, verifying product quantities and conditions against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Support the posting of inbound receipts into P21 and other ERP systems under the direction of the Inventory Control Specialist.
• Flag and document receiving variances for review and resolution by the inventory control team.
Cycle Counting Assistance
• Participate in regularly scheduled cycle counts, physically counting inventory and recording results accurately.
• Assist with entering cycle count data into ERP and warehouse management systems.
• Help identify and report discrepancies between physical counts and system records for further investigation.
Inventory Transfers & Adjustments
• Support the processing of inventory transfer transactions between warehouse locations in P21 and Jasci.
• Assist with routine inventory adjustments and ensure paperwork and system entries are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain organized records of inventory transactions, adjustments, and transfer documentation.
Logistics & General Inventory Support
• Provide general support to the logistics team including assistance with FTZ reporting documentation as directed.
• Perform general warehouse inventory tasks such as labeling, organizing, and staging product as needed.
• Support the inventory control team with ad hoc data entry, reporting, and special projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse, inventory, or logistics environment preferred.
Skills & Competencies
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required; experience with ERP or WMS systems a plus (P21, Jasci, or New Horizons).
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn inventory control processes and systems.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment; forklift certification or experience a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods of standing, walking and sitting.
Prolonged periods of working at a desk and on a computer as well as frequent use of hands to grasp, handle, and manipulate objects.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and or transferring equipment and materials.
Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and he ability to adjust focus.
Work environment is primarily in the warehouse environment.
