Locum Export Official Veterinarian – Dover

Rate: Up to £45 per hour

The Opportunity

HallMark Veterinary and Compliance Services is seeking an experienced Export Official Veterinarian (OV) to support and help develop our growing export operation in Dover.

Whilst this vacancy is being offered on a locum basis, we are also keen to hear from experienced Export Official Veterinarians who may be interested in part-time or full-time opportunities in the near future as we continue to expand our export services in the region.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and play a key role in supporting the export of Products of Animal Origin (POAO) to international markets, with a particular focus on fresh meat exports to the EU.

About the Role

This position is intended to be a dedicated export role, supporting the continued growth of HallMark's export business in Dover.

The successful candidate will focus primarily on export certification activities and ensuring compliance with relevant UK and importing country requirements. Support for import operations may occasionally be required to provide essential holiday or sickness cover, but export certification will remain the primary focus of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete Export Health Certificates (EHCs) and associated documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Verify compliance with UK export legislation and importing country requirements.
• Certify Products of Animal Origin (POAO) for export.
• Support fresh meat export operations to EU destinations.
• Liaise with exporters, site personnel, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth export processes.
• Maintain accurate records and certification documentation.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, animal health, and export control requirements.
• Promote HallMark's values of professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and customer service.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

• Qualified Official Veterinarian (OV) authorised to undertake export certification activities in the UK.
• Demonstrable experience in export certification of Products of Animal Origin (POAO).
• Strong experience with fresh meat exports to the EU.
• Excellent understanding of export certification processes and regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage certification documentation accurately.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full right to work in the UK.

Desirable:

• Previous experience working within busy export facilities or Border Control environments.
• Experience supporting high-volume export operations.
• Flexibility to support evolving export requirements as the business grows.
