KALLE USA LLC, a manufacturer of food packaging in the North Suburbs has an immediate need for a Staff Accountant.  

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for ownership and execution of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and standard costing functions within the Accounting/Finance Department; responsible for all payments of goods and services necessary for the basic operation of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Process accounts payable invoices into ERP system; generate invoices for domestic and international shipment.
• Reconcile accounts payable and generate monthly AP accrual.
• Research gathers documentation and vouch credit memos as received.
• Manage prepayments and work with the Director of Accounting to ensure they are applied correctly.
• Reconcile the weekly check run and wire transfers.
• Process check requests ensuring all appropriate approvals have been received.
• Research purchase order problems and provide guidance to Supply Chain on corrections.
• Set up new vendors in ERP system as needed, document email contact, request W-9s, determine if a 1099 is required to be sent at the end of the year.
• Ensure all supply chain PO corrections/receiving department corrections are resolved timely.
• Document and communicate intercompany charges.
• Vouch expense reports and auto allowances; also maintain auto allowance file.
• Maintain accounts receivable, insuring customer accounts are current – make adjustments as necessary; make weekly deposits.
• Reconcile accounts receivable monthly and provide weekly summaries with detailed notes for delinquent customers.
• Identify sales/use taxes to be paid and maintain sales tax file for payments made monthly by the Senior Accountant.
• Quarterly and yearly 1099 review and preparation.
• Update and maintain desktop procedures.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Other duties assigned by Department Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Degree in Business Administration or Accounting required. 
• Two (2) years of related experience in accounting; knowledge of Sage 100, desirable.
