The Opportunity

Infravision is looking for a hands-on Equipment Field Mechanic — Utility Stringing Equipment to support the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of specialized equipment used in our drone-enabled transmission line stringing operations.

This role is critical to keeping field operations running safely, efficiently, and reliably. The Equipment Field Mechanic will work on electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, diesel, and control systems across specialized utility stringing equipment, including tensioners, pullers, generators, hydraulic systems, and related field assets.

This is a hands-on maintenance and occasional field support role in a fast-moving operations environment. The right candidate will bring strong technical troubleshooting skills, safety discipline, field readiness, and the ability to support both shop-based and remote project-site maintenance needs.

Why Work For Infravision

At Infravision, you will be part of a mission-driven technology company helping transform how high-voltage transmission infrastructure is built. Our work is hands-on, field-based, and directly connected to grid modernization, renewable energy growth, and critical infrastructure delivery.

You will work alongside operations, field, safety, aviation, and engineering teams to keep specialized equipment operating safely and reliably in real-world project environments.

We offer a collaborative, energizing work environment, competitive compensation and benefits, and the opportunity to participate in the Company’s employee share option plan.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair specialized utility stringing equipment, including tensioners, pullers, generators, hydraulic systems, and related field assets.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, diesel, and control system issues using diagnostic tools, OEM schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, hydraulic systems, controls, and 480v circuits.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections (pre and post) on stringing equipment.
  • Uphold safety and quality standards by conducting inspections, following OSHA and company procedures, and supporting safe work execution.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service documentation, parts usage, and equipment history through digital systems.
  • Manage or support parts inventory to ensure equipment readiness and minimize downtime.
  • Communicate clearly with field supervisors, operators, safety teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding equipment status, repair needs, and operational risks.
  • Work in both maintenance shop and outdoor field environments, including active construction sites, remote locations, rugged terrain, and challenging weather conditions.
  • Support other maintenance, field, operational, safety, documentation, and startup needs as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational/technical certification or associate degree in Diesel Mechanics, Electrical/Mechanical Technology, Heavy Equipment Repair, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy industrial, construction, utility, mining, agricultural, or similar heavy equipment.
  • Experience with conductor stringing equipment, such as TESMEC, Condux, PullzAll, or similar cable-handling machinery, strongly preferred.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and repair up to 480V three-phase electrical systems, controls and low-voltage DC control circuits.
  • Strong knowledge of open and closed-loop hydraulic systems, including component removal, resealing, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of diesel engines, powertrains, braking systems, generators, and heavy-duty mechanical systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, especially under field conditions and time-sensitive operational needs.
  • Ability to clearly document repairs and communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL or ability to obtain a CDL within 90 days preferred.
  • Ability to work in a maintenance shop and outdoors in non-climate-controlled environments, including active construction sites and remote project locations.
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, lift, carry, push, pull, and safely move objects up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, work extended hours, and support on-call needs as required.
  • Strong safety mindset and willingness to follow structured maintenance, safety, quality, and documentation procedures.
  • Flexibility to support a broad range of responsibilities in a growing startup environment.
