POSITION TITLE: Machinist
REPORTS TO: Value Stream Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Machine Shop
STATUS: Non-Exempt
HOURS: Day Shift
Certain positions with IDEX Corporation and its business units require access to controlled goods and technologies subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations. Set up, programs and operates the manual and CNC lathes and CNC mills, performs high precision prototype work and production work, and performs equipment maintenance as needed. Must also be familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures, rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
**The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Heavy Work: The ability to lift up to one hundred pounds with assistance occasionally and up to fifty pounds frequently, due to the weight of machinery and materials. This position requires standing to a significant degree in order to operate machinery safely.
