Description

Job Summary:

The Digital Media Manager will execute and manage Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh’s digital strategy to increase brand awareness, engagement, and online fundraising. This position will lead organizational digital communications planning and establish standards for digital content, branding, accessibility and platform usage to support marketing and fundraising goals. The Manager will provide supervision and mentorship to the Digital Fundraising Specialist. This is an in-shelter position. While limited flexibility may be possible, regular on-site presence is required. 

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Strategy and Leadership

  • Develop and implement the organization’s digital media strategy to support organizational initiatives and achieve measurable marketing and fundraising goals.
  • Monitor digital trends, accessibility and guide adoption of best practices.
  • Facilitate cross departmental collaboration to enhance interaction between multiple systems to improve engagement and communication with organization’s constituents
  • Oversee community management across digital platforms, including monitoring comments, messages, reviews, and inquiries and coordinating responses with appropriate departments.

Content Leadership & Campaign Coordination

  • Manage content creation, scheduling, publishing and community engagement for HARP’s website, social media channels, and digital advertising campaigns. 
  • Work closely with the Digital Fundraising Specialist to develop and execute seasonal campaigns such as Giving Tuesday and year-end appeals.
  • Ensure messaging is consistent with the organization’s brand and mission.

Creative Direction

  • Create engaging content, including graphics, videos and written content, for use in external and internal communications. Primary creator for visual assets, print collaterals, etc. not designed by external agencies. 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to ensure all visuals align with brand standards and storytelling objectives.
  • Manage photo and video asset library.

Website Strategy

  • Oversee website strategy, user experience, accessibility, SEO performance, and ongoing content optimization to improve engagement and conversions. 

Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the performance of digital platforms and campaigns using tools like Google Analytics and social media insights.
  • Use data to optimize content and campaign effectiveness. Develop dashboards and provide actionable insights. 
  • Manage local search and directory presence, including Google Business profiles and related listings.

Collaboration & Team Support

  • Supervise and mentor the Digital Fundraising Specialist, ensuring alignment with campaign objectives and fostering professional growth.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications and other team members to integrate digital initiatives with broader marketing strategies.
  • Serve as primary liaison with external vendors and consultants for digital products and tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in digital marketing, including content management, campaign coordination, and analytics.
  • Familiarity with digital fundraising, peer-to-peer campaigns, and email marketing best practices.
  • Proficiency with platforms such as WordPress, Google Analytics, Sprout and other social media tools.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, paid advertising (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads), and data analysis.
  • Experience with graphic design or video editing software.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Passion for HARP’s mission and commitment to making a difference.
