The Plant Supervisor role is directly responsible for the day-to-day sourcing, grading, and shipping of potato product for our customers. This includes the oversight of grading, operations support, fluming, and maintenance staff, while coordinating operations with the various other functions within the shipping plant operations team.

This includes oversight of grading, operations support, fluming, and maintenance staff, while coordinating operations with other functions within the shipping plant operations team.
Core Responsibilities
Directs and leads plant employees in the areas of safety, quality, and production: (75%)
Works with the Plant Manager to plan and direct all production activities and establish production priorities based on customer demand.
Coordinates with maintenance and quality control staff to optimize production levels and the most effective utilization of staff and equipment.
Participates in the hiring and training of new staff, including interviewing, monitoring, training, and reviewing the performance of staff on their production team.
Works with the Plant Manager to develop staffing plans and schedules to meet customer needs.
Works with the Plant Manager to administer and enforce all Heartland Farms policies, including standard work rules, safety requirements, and attendance policies.
Operates and monitors all plant processes using automated controls (Computer HMI) for all areas of production, including sourcing, grading, and the shipping of potato products to our customers. (15%)
To be able to perform all instructions as given by the Manager competently. (10%)
Preferred Experience
A minimum of 2 years of basic mechanical and electrical experience, especially in conveyor systems, mechanical pumping operations, and material flow, is preferred.
Experience supervising staff in a manufacturing or agricultural environment is preferred.
Work Schedule
The Plant Supervisors' work schedule is highly dependent on the time of year and weather conditions. Employees will be expected to work as needed, which will require significant flexibility in hours per day/week and the times worked. 50+ hour weeks are possible seasonally.
Physical Requirements
Requires the ability to work on-site and in multiple locations and settings.
Requires the ability to climb ladders, use elevated walkways, and stand and walk throughout the majority of their workday.
Requires the ability to clearly understand verbal and written communication from others in person and by telephone.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have a valid and current operator's license with a clean record

Less than 20 minutes from Bancroft, Coloma, or Plainfield.
About 30 minutes from Adams, Almond, Necedah, Nekoosa, Wautoma, Westfield, or Wild Rose.
About 35-40 minutes from Red Granite, Stevens Point, or Wisconsin Rapids.
