Production Associate I

Davenport, IA

Summary

Under the direction of the departmental Supervisor, the Production Associate I executes the position responsibilities to ensure that business goals are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities

1. Follows work processes and demonstrates proficiency in at least one functional area:

  • High-quality soldering or related activity
  • Product assembly 

2. Supports overall department functions and responsibilities:

  • Assists other personnel to meet delivery schedules
  • Monitors and maintains equipment including sealers, work benches, and label printers; notifies Production Supervisor if repair or replacement is required
  • Disassembles returns as assigned
  • Counts inventory for cycle counts and full physical inventory
  • Executes work instructions and provides expected feedback
  • Executes build-to-stock orders as assigned

3. References work instructions, build charts, and part configurator to ensure parts match customer specifications.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Exhibits strong manual dexterity with the ability to perform high-quality soldering
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to meet customer needs in dynamic situations

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Two-year degree/certification, Associate’s Degree, or preferred.

Language Skills

Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as packing slips, procedure manuals, Bill of Materials, and ISO9001:2015 work instructions.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities

Requires the ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and simple tools, as well as a wide variety of standard office equipment, such as a computer and keyboard, a calculator, telephone, FAX, photocopier, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
