Perform fiberglass repairs on boat decks, hulls, and interior components to eliminate defects like air voids and scratches. Ensure all repairs meet quality standards and daily production targets with zero defects.
Candidates must be able to operate air tools and handle chemicals while performing physically demanding tasks in a non-airconditioned environment. Ability to follow safety guidelines and communicate effectively with supervisors is required.
Position Overview
Fiberglass Repair - - Inside and Outside of all boat decks & hulls, repair all areas including floors, helms, seat boxes, sinks, and ladder pockets.
Essential Job Functions
-Inspecting all parts for defects and repairing all air voids, scratches, mold marks and thin gel
- Able to understand and follow the requirements, policies, and guidelines set forth within the Code of Conduct & Employee Handbook expectations.
- Must have reliable transportation to get to work.
-Must be able to follow the Company's Safety and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
Requirements
-Must be able to use air tools; palm sanders, air buffers and electric buffers
-Must be able to work with chemicals including acetone, buffing compound, gel coat, and catalyst
-Must be able to life and handle up to 30 pounds of material
-Ability to continuously stand, walk, reach while frequently crouching, bending, & climbing throughout the workday.
-Must be able to work in a non-airconditioned environment.
-Ability to professionally work with team members, Team Leads, Group Leaders, and Supervisors to achieve daily work targets.
-Must be able to listen, understand, and follow the instructions and coaching feedback provided by Team Leads, Group Leaders, Supervisors and/or Plant Manager.
-Ability to understand importance of following work instructions to compete the daily work targets with zero defects.
Other Skills/Abilities
- Must be able to professionally and effectively communicate with Team Leads, Group Leaders, Supervisors and Plant Manager.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes in responsibility (work duties) processes, procedures, or work schedules.
