GFT is seeking a motivated Survey Field Technician to join our Construction Services team. This is a full-time opportunity to support transportation, infrastructure, and land development projects through the collection of accurate field data and the operation of survey equipment in a dynamic field environment.

What you'll be challenged to do:
As a Survey Field Technician, you will support field survey operations on a variety of infrastructure and transportation projects. Working closely with surveyors, engineers, and project teams, you will assist with collecting accurate field data, operating survey equipment, and maintaining project documentation. Your work will contribute to the successful planning, design, and construction of projects that improve communities and critical infrastructure.
In this capacity, you will be responsible for the following:
Assist with field surveying activities, including the collection of data for transportation, infrastructure, and land development projects.
Operate and maintain survey equipment and technology used for field measurements and data collection.
Support survey crews in performing topographic, boundary, construction, and as-built surveys.
Prepare and maintain accurate field notes, records, and documentation in accordance with project requirements.
Follow established safety, quality, and operational procedures while collaborating with project teams and clients.
Education | Experience:
What you will bring to our firm:
High school diploma or equivalent.
0-3 years of experience supporting survey, construction, engineering, or related field operations.
Demonstrated interest in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry through prior academic, internship, or related work experiences.
Ability to read and interpret plans, maps, sketches, and technical documents.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Must be able to physically work outdoors including being capable of lifting 30 pounds and traversing steep slopes and rough terrain.
Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
What we prefer you bring:
Associate degree or coursework in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, Geomatics, or a related field.
Familiarity with survey equipment, including GPS/GNSS receivers, total stations, and data collectors.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $40,000 - $45,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
