Friends of Ruby is dedicated to supporting the well-being of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth aged 16-29 through mental health services, social programs, and housing. We operate a Youth Drop-In Centre, offering barrier-free counselling, case management, and community programming; and a Transitional Home, providing emergency and long-term housing with life-skills support.

Our approach is comprehensive, involving mind, body, and community. We believe that every individual is unique, valuable, and deserving of care, and we are committed to treating everyone with dignity, respect, and inclusion. Rooted in intersectional, anti-oppressive, and decolonized approaches, our work is grounded in integrity as we build strong, collaborative relationships and strive to grow and improve together.

About the Role

As Senior Manager of Clinical Services, you will:

  • Lead the clinical and administrative oversight of a team of Clinicians and Intake Workers to ensure effective teamwork, high-quality service delivery, and continuous learning.
  • Oversee the case review process and workload management, including waitlist review, case assignment/transfer, and responding to participant and family inquiries to ensure timely and equitable access to services.
  • Develop, adapt, and implement innovative, evidence-based clinical programming, ensuring initiatives are grounded in best practices and address the intersectionality of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth needs.
  • Monitor and report on program outcomes by compiling and analyzing statistical data, preparing monthly clinical services reports for leadership, funders, and the community sector, and ensuring all data meets confidentiality requirements.
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with partner agencies and community organizations, seeking opportunities to contribute to the broader sector and establish collaborative initiatives.
  • Support the Senior Management team in strategic planning, and contribute to a culture of continuous quality improvement by using quality, health, participant satisfaction, and outcome measures.

Your Competencies

  • Ability to apply trauma-informed approaches and embed IDEA, people-first and restorative principles of leadership in policies, programs, performance management and other people management decisions.
  • Ability to mentor Clinicians and Intake Workers, address complex performance issues, and foster a supportive, growth-oriented team culture.
  • Ability to drive integrated, participant-centered care by leading cross-departmental collaboration and building strong inter-team relationships.
  • Ability to develop and execute operational plans for multiple clinical programs to ensure efficiency, funding compliance, and seamless service delivery.
  • Ability to adapt and implement clinical, policy, and technical standards across program contexts, ensuring evidence-based, trauma-informed practice and regulatory compliance.

Required Credentials

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or related discipline.
  • Registered and in good standing with a college that allows for the provision of psychotherapy.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of clinical experience working in Mental Health and Addictions.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of previous supervisory and management experience, including demonstrated effectiveness in designing, planning, leading, and change management in community mental health.
  • Experience using an electronic client record system.
  • Experience using multiple modalities of counselling (e.g., single-session, DBT, EMDR, solution-focused, EFT, therapeutic groups).

Why Work with Us?

  • Be part of a mission-driven organization where your work has a lasting impact on the lives of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth.
  • Join a welcoming, inclusive environment where your ideas are valued and your contributions are recognized and celebrated. We offer a space where everyone can be their authentic selves at work.
  • We invest in your professional development with meaningful opportunities for growth, learning, and advancement.
  • Engage in work that is challenging, meaningful, and aligned with your values.

What We Need

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Must provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Must reside in Ontario.
  • Willing to work onsite Monday to Friday.
  • Willing to work on a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the organization.
  • Ability to travel to other community-based settings as needed.
