Our facility in Manila, Philippines has been operating since 1996 with key functions in Design and Development, Engineering, Manufacturing and other disciplines. This site specializes in product design, process development and mass production of Photodiodes, Photodiode Arrays and High-Performance Sensors. These product technologies are primarily for LiDAR applications such as autonomous vehicles and range finding, as well as safety and security applications including smoke detection and luggage scanning.
We are presently seeking for Equipment Engineering Technician that will support Production in terms of troubleshooting and repair, machine set-up and calibration.
Main Responsibilities:
The Sustaining Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and continuously improving customized automated manufacturing equipment to achieve high equipment availability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
This role supports daily production operations, executes preventive and corrective maintenance, and drives equipment improvements to optimize Availability, MTTR, MTBF, MTTC, and overall maintenance cost. The technician will collaborate closely with Equipment Engineers, Production, and Vendors to sustain stable manufacturing output.
Requirements:
3–5+ years’ experience in sustaining or maintaining automated manufacturing equipment
Hands‑on experience with:
Preventive Maintenance (PM) execution and optimization
Breakdown response and root cause troubleshooting
Reliability or improvement activities on existing equipment
Experience working with customized, non‑standard, or offshore (China‑built) machines
Experience in production‑critical environments requiring fast recovery and minimal downtime
Technical Skills
Mechanical
Maintenance and improvement of Linear guides, ball screws, cams, bearings, belts, and precision assemblies.
Ability to identify mechanical wear trends and failure patterns
Electrical
Preventive inspection of:

Ability to interpret:
Homing logic and motion sequences
Encoder feedback, limit conditions, and torque alarms
Support motion‑related automation improvements to:
Reduce positioning errors
Improve cycle stability and repeatability
Pneumatics
PM and improvement actions for:
Air leaks, sluggish cylinders, pressure instability
Ability to reduce cycle loss and unplanned stops
PLC & Control Systems (STRONG REQUIREMENT)
Hands‑on experience with industrial PLC platforms, such as:
Keyence (VT/KV Studio)
Mitsubishi (GX Works)
Omron (CX / Sysmac)
Capable of:
Monitoring PLC logic and execution flow
Tracing step‑by‑step machine sequences
Diagnosing logic‑based stoppages and dead conditions
Strong understanding of:
Inputs / Outputs (digital & analog)
Interlocks, conditions, and safety logic
Recipe‑driven and parameter‑based control
Vision / CCD Automation
Familiarity with vision systems integrated with PLC logic
Capable of:
Diagnosing vision‑related interlocks
