The Maintenance Manager leads all maintenance activities, maintenance systems, and reliability initiatives while providing technical expertise and operational leadership to ensure safe operations, maximum equipment uptime, and sustainable plant performance. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader who can balance hands-on troubleshooting with team development, maintenance planning, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration.

This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a growing manufacturing operation while helping deliver high-quality nutrition to pets across North America.

· Lead all maintenance activities for the Brownwood facility, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment and facilities.

· Develop and drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reduce downtime.

· Lead small capital projects (under $100,000) from planning through execution and startup.

· Assist with the planning, execution, and startup of larger capital projects to support facility growth, reliability, and operational improvement.

· Provide direct leadership, coaching, training, and development for maintenance team members.

· Prioritize, schedule, and oversee maintenance work orders, shutdowns, and improvement projects utilizing the CMMS.

· Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, PLC, and facility systems as needed.

· Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and performance.

· Manage the maintenance storeroom and spare parts inventory to ensure critical components are available, properly organized, and accurately tracked.

· Manage contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.

· Monitor maintenance performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

· Inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance, reliability, and safety improvement opportunities.

· Partner with Operations, Quality, and Safety teams to support production goals and maintain a strong safety culture.

· Assist in developing and managing maintenance budgets, large capital projects, and equipment improvement plans.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

· 3+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.

· Experience leading, training, and developing maintenance personnel.

· Experience with CMMS, HMI, PLCs, and industrial electrical and mechanical systems.

· Strong troubleshooting, planning, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and maintenance practices in a food safe environment

  • Ability to build a strong team and encourage growth and knowledge of maintenance best practices.

  • Understanding and enforcement of OSHA Safety Practices

· Must be willing to submit to a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

· Must be eligible to work in the United States.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or a related field.

· Experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing, industrial, food, pet food, feed, and/or similar production environment.

· Experience with PLCs, automation systems, and industrial controls.

· Working knowledge of preventive maintenance, reliability programs, and continuous improvement practices.

· Experience managing maintenance inventory, contractors, or small capital projects.

· Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety requirements.

· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift to 50 lbs.

· Ability to stand, walk, and work throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods.

· Ability to remain in a stationary position and work at a computer as needed.

· Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, platforms, and elevated work areas.

· Ability to inspect equipment and access confined or low-clearance areas when necessary.

· Ability to safely work in industrial environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and moving equipment.

· Ability to observe equipment performance, identify issues, and assess operating conditions.

· Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written methods with employees, contractors, and leadership.

· Ability to operate a computer, mobile devices, and other office and maintenance technologies.
