Analyzes defective products to identify root causes and performs audits to identify unfavorable quality trends. Approves incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure standards are met.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience/training. Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 100 pounds and operating measuring instruments.

Full job description

Summary

Under general supervision, analyzes defective product in order to identify root causes of failures. Processes auditing in order to identify unfavorable trends in process and product quality for the plant. Involves engineering and production supervision as necessary to identify and correct the cause and to eliminate/minimize future occurrences. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.

  • Approves finished products
  • Approves in-process production
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications
  • Conducting visual and measurement tests
  • Returning products for re-work
  • Confirming requirements
  • Assists with QA audits
  • Checks, analyzes and inspects raw materials
  • Work in process goods and finished goods by following the guidelines to ensure procedures and standards are met
  • Identifies issues and recommends preventative and corrective action to mitigate future risk
  • Performs periodic audits to ensure the achievement of quality standards

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

May require fork truck license.

Other Skills and Abilities Regular attendance is an essential job requirement. Ability to work as a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.
