Special Education Teacher

Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Direct Supervisor: Principal

Contract Days: 10 Months (Academic School Year)

Position Responsibilities :

• Committed to creating an inclusive learning environment, the Special Education Teacher provides personalized educational services to meet the diverse needs of students.
  
• Developing and monitoring Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Conducting needs assessments
• Collaborating with educators and specialists
• Strategic planning
• Creating instructional materials
• Fostering an inclusive environment
• Monitoring student's progress, implementing interventions, and collaborating with teams
• Adapting the curriculum, maintaining communication with parents, managing classroom and behavioral aspects, and ensuring compliance with regulations

Position Qualifications:

• 
  A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• 
  A valid Missouri Teacher's Certificate (applicable level-area endorsements preferred)
• 
  Ability to pass an extensive background check
• 
  Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the State Board of Education and DLS HS
• 
  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• 
  Strong PC skills
• 
  Organized, self-starter with the ability to adapt to support the best interest of the student
• 
  Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding students
