Our Commercial team is a large, but a close-knit group of trading experts, who are ready to shape the future of Coles. We pride ourselves on the long-lasting supplier relationships we build, the new ideas we develop and how passionately we work to help Australian eat and live better every day. And the best part? About the role
We’re looking for a talented Range & Space Planner to join our team to help shape how our customers experience our stores. In this role, you’ll help connect customers with the products they love by designing and optimising layouts that enhance visibility, efficiency and engagement.
You’ll play a crucial part in transforming strategy into practical, data driven recommendations that elevate the shopping experience and support business growth.
Please note: this role is a 12-month fixed term contract.
You will also:
Lead or contribute to key range and space planning projects, ensuring high quality, timely delivery
Monitor return on space using a variety of data sources to support informed decision making
Proactively identify opportunities for improved ranging and space utilisation and recommend continuous improvement initiatives
Influence and collaborate effectively to ensure alignment, understanding and successful project outcomes
About you and your skills
You are a commercially minded problem solver who combines design thinking with analytical rigour. You enjoy working with data, curious about the use of AI, thrive in fast paced environments, and are energised by the challenge of balancing customer needs, business priorities and operational realities. Your strong stakeholder engagement skills enable you to consult, negotiate and influence effectively across teams.
You’ll also ideally have:
Experience working within a FMCG, Supermarket or large retail environment, bringing a strong understanding of how products, customers and operations interact
Knowledge of range reviews and space planning principles
High attention to detail with demonstrated data and digital literacy
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate insights into practical recommendations
Experience managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast paced environment
Excellent collaboration, communication and influencing skills
